Enterprise auth checklist: what your first big customer will ask
SSO, SCIM, audit logs, IP allowlists. The enterprise readiness checklist that turns 'we'll consider it next year' into a signed contract this quarter.
The five things every enterprise IT team asks
SAML SSO. SCIM provisioning. Audit logs with export. IP allowlist. Role-based access control with custom roles. Have these five and you'll pass 90% of enterprise security reviews on the first pass.
What's nice-to-have
Just-in-time provisioning, hardware token enforcement, session recording, customer-managed encryption keys. These come up at the largest enterprises — but rarely block a first contract.
Where to put it on the roadmap
Build SSO and audit logs in the first month if your ICP includes companies over 200 employees. Everything else is reactive — you add it when a deal requires it.
The cost of enterprise auth done right early is a week. The cost of bolting it on under deal pressure is a quarter.
